A massive fire erupted at a cotton warehouse near Patrapada in Bhubaneswar on Monday morning, sending thick plumes of smoke into the sky and sparking panic among locals.
The blaze was first noticed around 9 a.m. when residents spotted smoke billowing from the warehouse. Fire Services were immediately alerted, and multiple fire tenders rushed to the scene. With the warehouse stocked with highly inflammable cotton, the flames spread rapidly, making firefighting efforts extremely challenging.
More than 10 firefighting teams have been deployed and have been engaged in the operation for hours. Officials said the fire has not yet been fully extinguished, and the extent of damage will only be assessed once the blaze is completely brought under control.
The exact cause of the fire remains unknown.
