The Induction training for Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) appointed in Government Higher Secondary Schools and Government Upgraded Higher Secondary Schools under the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education, School and Mass Education Department, concluded today.

This program was organised in two phases at IMAGE, Siripur, Bhubaneswar, with approximately 240 PGT teachers participating.

The valedictory session was attended by several officials, including Higher Education Director Kaliprasanna Mohapatra, Director of Higher Secondary Education Niyati Pattnaik, Joint Directors Binita Senapati and Sasmita Mali, and Deputy Directors C.H. Vijayalakshmi and Jitendra Kumar Nayak.

During his address, Director of Higher Education Kaliprasanna Mohapatra praised the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education for its continuous efforts in organizing orientation and training programs. He emphasised the increasing significance of teachers in today’s rapidly changing world. “In this technological era, teachers must constantly upgrade their knowledge and skills. The insights gained from this orientation should be effectively utilised to address students’ challenges and enhance classroom engagement,” he stated, encouraging teachers to adopt solution-oriented approaches.

Director of Higher Secondary Education Niyati Pattnaik expressed her satisfaction with the successful completion of the two phases of PGT training and offered her best wishes to the participating teachers for their future endeavors. Joint Director Sasmita Mali delivered the welcome address and provided a detailed overview of the training, while Deputy Director C.H. Vijayalakshmi facilitated the valedictory program. Sociology PGT Sikriti Mishra delivered the vote of thanks.

The induction training was split into two phases: the first phase took place from February 3 to February 7, and the second phase occurred from February 9 to February 13. During the training, participants enjoyed a local exposure visit to Kalabhoomi, where they engaged in various interactive activities. The team that presented the best activity was recognised at the concluding session. Additionally, two informative handbooks on training for vocational teachers and PGT teachers were released during the event.

In the first phase, PGTs from subjects such as Psychology, Zoology, Botany, Urdu, and Anthropology participated. The second phase included PGTs from Logic, Statistics, Geography, Hindi, Home Science, and Sociology.
