Jagatsinghpur: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly attacked his wife and daughter with a sharp weapon before eliminating himself at Jotachandpatana village under Sadar police limits in Jagatsinghpur.
While the daughter succumbed to her injuries during treatment, the condition of the wife is reportedly critical.
The man was identified as Loknath Pal (54).
As per available information, neighbours recovered Loknath’s hanging body from the room and immediately rushed his wife Kalpana and daughter Madhusmita (20) to Jagatsinghpur DHH where the 20-years-old girl succumbed.
Meanwhile, Kalpana has been shifted to a hospital in Cuttack as her health condition deteriorated. However, she also passed away.
On being alerted, police reached the spot and initiated a probe into the matter.
Though the exact circumstances that led to the bloodshed remained unknown, it is being claimed that an altercation might have triggered the incident.
Reportedly, Loknath’s son resides in Bhubaneswar with his wife.
