A shocking murder rocked Jharsuguda district after a man allegedly killed his wife following a heated argument at their home in Ganthiabuda village under H. Katapali Panchayat.
Police identified the victim as 28-year-old Saudamini Kisan and arrested her husband, Rahul Bag, for the crime. According to investigators, Rahul and Saudamini had married three years ago in a love marriage. Locals said the couple often quarrelled over personal issues, and tensions escalated on Sunday morning. Rahul attacked Saudamini during a dispute, leading to her death.
The incident triggered panic in the village. Jharsuguda Sadar police reached the spot and began an investigation. Officers confirmed that Rahul was taken into custody soon after the murder.
Residents revealed that the couple belonged to different castes, which had caused friction within their families. Police registered a murder case and launched a detailed probe to determine the exact motive and circumstances surrounding the killing.
