Low-pressure Forms Over Bay Of Bengal: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) regional centre here on Monday informed that the cyclonic circulation over Northwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal has turned into a Low Pressure.

The system is likely to move northwestwards towards Odisha coast and become more marked during next 24 hours.

Under the influence, the IMD has issued heavy rainfall alert for several districts till September 21. A Orange and Yellow Warnings has also been issued for several districts of Odisha.

The Met office predicted heavy rainfall of 7-10 mm at a few places over Puri, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Gajapati, Ganjam and Jagatsinghpur districts on Sunday. Downpour is likely in several districts, including Khurda, Cuttack and Puri, on Monday.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall can occur in a few places over Boudh, Angul, Subarnapur, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi on Tuesday.
