Lockdown 3.0: Govt Offices In Odisha To Function With 30% Staff

Bhubaneswar: As lockdown 3.0 due to the COVID-19 pandemic is underway in Odisha, all state government departments have been asked to function with 30 percent of their employees from June 1.

The state government also said that officers of the rank of Deputy Secretary & above should attend the office daily.

“All the Departments of the Govemment shall function 30% strength of employees and officers of the rank of Deputy Secretary & above should attend the office daily. However, the Departments shall be at liberty to decide the scale of operations and the employee strength, keeping in view the incidence of infection among the employees of the Department and the workload, that of urgent nature in particular, and ensure that the essential Govemment work doesn’t suffer,” informed General Administration & Public Grievance Department in an order.

“It may be ensured that the Officers/staff who are not assigned duty on the roster, should work from home with VPN provided to them for attending the regular & pending works. The employees with disability & pregnant women employees may be exempted from attending office and work from home,” the order read.

“All the employees who are not attending be available at headquarters to attend to any office work of urgent nature, at short notice on the telephone at all times. Administrative Departments will decide about the scale of operations in Sub-ordinate and field offices,” the GA&PG Dept’s order further read.
