Veteran Tamil filmmaker Bharathiraja, one of the most influential directors in Indian cinema, passed away on Wednesday following age-related health complications. He was 84.
The acclaimed director, producer, screenwriter, and actor breathed his last at his residence in Chennai, according to family sources. His passing marks the end of an era in Tamil cinema, where he redefined storytelling and brought rural India to the forefront of mainstream filmmaking.
A Pioneer Who Changed Tamil Cinema
