Justice Subhasis Talapatra to take oath as Chief Justice of Orissa High Court on Aug 8

Cuttack: Justice Subhasis Talapatra will be sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court on August 8.

Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal will administer the Oath of Office to the Hon’ble Chief Justice-designate Justice Subhasis Talapatra.

The Swearing-in-Ceremony of Justice Subhasis Talapatra as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Orissa will be held on August 8 (Tuesday) at 10.00 A.M at the eastern side lawn (Old Building) of the High Court of Orissa, Cuttack.

Hon’ble Judges and Hon’ble Former Judges of the High Court of Orissa including other high dignitaries will grace the Swearing-in-Ceremony.

Notably, Justice Subhasis Talapatra was sworn in as Judge of Gauhati High Court on November 15, 2011. On the establishment of a separate high court for Tripura in 2013, he opted for it as his parent high court. He was transferred as Judge of Orissa High Court in June 2022.

Justice Subhasis Talapatra has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court consequent upon the retirement of present Chief Justice S Muralidhar on August 7, 2023.
