Jajpur: In another development in the Jharaphula Nayak death case, the Kuakhia police today took accused Rakesh Swain on remand for three days and started questioning him.
Jajpur SDPO & Kuakhia IIC are grilling the accused to elicit more information from him in connection with the case.
The Jajpur District Court had yesterday allowed the police to take him on 3-day remand. Police had earlier prayed before the court for a five-day remand of the accused.
The Twin City Commissionerate Police had arrested Rakesh from his residence at Sundarpada in Bhubaneswar and handed him over to Jajpur police.
Earlier on Saturday, Jajpur police raided a guesthouse in Bhubaneswar. A special squad of police along with a scientific team examined a room of Shiv Sai Guest House in Dharma Vihar area where the girl Jharaphula Nayak had stayed along with Rakesh Swain on the night of January 26, a day before she was found dead.
