Nearly 20 rocket launches by Hezbollah were seen crossing from Lebanese territory into Israel’s Lower Galilee region on Sunday morning, confirmed the Israel Defence Forces (IDF).
Most of these rockets were successfully intercepted by the IDF’s air defence systems. However, a 28-year-old Israeli man in the Lower Galilee sustained shrapnel injuries and was hospitalized. He was fully conscious when transported to Tiberias for treatment and is in serious but stable condition.
Furthermore, the IDF stated that after a rocket alert at 5:34 a.m. local time in the Ramot Naftali area, close to the Lebanese border, air defence units intercepted a suspicious aerial object detected in the vicinity. No other casualties or damage were reported.
During the rocket barrage by Hezbollah this morning, Hezbollah stated that its target was a military installation near Tiberias.
An Israeli airstrike on Saturday night in Baalbek, a city in northern Lebanon, resulted in the death of a prominent member of Hezbollah’s Aerial Defense Unit.
