Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati appointed IPS officer Ananya Awasthi as the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the Governor of Odisha.
With this appointment, she became the first woman ADC in the state’s history.
Officials confirmed that her selection marks a significant milestone for Odisha Raj Bhavan, reflecting the growing representation of women in key administrative and ceremonial roles. The ADC position involves assisting the Governor in official duties, coordinating ceremonial functions, and ensuring the smooth execution of protocol responsibilities.
Ananya Awasthi’s appointment has been welcomed as a progressive step, symbolising inclusivity and recognition of women officers in the police service. The development is expected to inspire more women to pursue leadership roles in the armed forces and civil services.
