New Delhi: India’s daily number of Covid-19 cases swiftly crossed 1.4 lakh cases with 21% rise in 24 hours as the country stares at the third wave driven by Omicron cases.

- Total recoveries: 3,44,12,740
- Death toll: 4,83,463
- Total vaccination: 150.06 crore doses
Meanwhile, Dr Christopher Murray, Director, Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, Washington, warned that the country may see 5 lakh new cases every day during peak in February.
A total of 3,071 cases of the Omicron variant of the Coronavirus were reported in 27 States/UTs of India so far. The Union Health Ministry said that close to 1,203 people recovered from Omicron.
