IMPCC Odisha Discusses Outreach Strategy for Campaign on 12 Years of Government achievement

The Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) – Odisha Region held its monthly meeting today at the NABM-Prasar Bharati, Bhubaneswar to deliberate on communication and outreach strategies for the campaign “12 Years of NDA Government: Success, Achievements & Milestones.”


Shri Akhil Kumar Mishra, Additional Director General, PIB and CBC Bhubaneswar and Chairperson of IMPCC highlighted the importance of breaking the barriers of communication for fostering better understanding, cooperation and effective governance. Drawing lessons from Albert Camus’ short story The Silent Man (1957), he emphasized that silence, while often a form of communication can also create barriers between institutions and people if left unaddressed. Stressing the need for continuous dialogue and public engagement he urged the officials of key central, state government and PSUs to proactively disseminate information on government initiatives and developmental programmes, ensuring that the benefits of public welfare schemes reach every section of society. He also called for greater collaboration among communication units to strengthen citizen outreach and bridge information gaps.

Representatives of various media units, government departments and Public sector undertakings participated in the deliberations. During the meeting, members presented reports on important activities undertaken by their respective organizations and shared best practices, achievements and innovative outreach initiatives.

The meeting witnessed participation from representatives of various government departments and media organizations including Dr. Abhishek Mishra, Deputy Director, Doordarshan Kendra (DDK), Bhubaneswar; Dr. J.K. Sundaray, Sr. Scientist, CIFA, Dr. Suchitra from Deptt. of Health , Shri Jagadish Sahu, Assistant Director, MSME; Shri Ratikanta Nayak, Chief  Manager(Corporate communication), Paradip Port Authority; Dr. Laxmidhar Behera from Regional Institute of Education,Shri Abhishek Mandal, Deputy Director, MY Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports; Shri Subhendu Kumar Nayak, NALCO, Bhubaneswar; Shri A.S. Kaber, Youth Officer, NSS Regional Directorate, Bhubaneswar; Shri A.K.Bhuyan, Asst. Director, Khadi and Village Industries Commission,   Dr. S.N. Pattnaik, Deputy Director, News Division, Akashvani Cuttack and Smt. Sasmita Paikaray, Field Publicity Officer,  Regional Office, Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Bhubaneswar.

Shri Pradeep Kumar Choudhary, Member Secretary, IMPCC and Assistant Director, Central Bureau of Communication welcomed the participants and underscored the significance of collaborative outreach efforts. The members further deliberated on the theme and programme for the next IMPCC meeting. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri M.P. Jena, Assistant Director, PIB Bhubaneswar.
