Police arrested nine persons and seized cash worth Rs 7,00,700 along with vehicles, mobile phones, and other gambling‑related articles.
Acting on credible information, police raided the spot and caught the accused while they were allegedly engaged in gambling activities. The operation led to the recovery of Rs 7,00,700 in cash, 12 mobile phones, a Mahindra Scorpio, a Maruti Suzuki Swift, a motorcycle, a scooty, and other items believed to have been used in the offence.
A case has been registered under Section 3 of the Odisha Prevention of Gambling Act, and further investigation is underway to trace the wider network. Police reiterated their commitment to stringent legal action against illegal activities to ensure peace and public safety in the city.
