A fire erupted in the early hours of Monday morning on the set of the television serial Anupamaa, located in Goregaon’s Film City, Mumbai.
The incident, which took place behind the Marathi Bigg Boss set near Hathi Gate in Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari, prompted a rapid response from the Mumbai Fire Brigade.
According to initial reports from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) fire department, the blaze originated in a tent structure on the Annapurna set. It was declared a Level-I emergency at 6:26 am. Four fire engines, four jumbo water tankers, an Assistant Divisional Fire Officer, and three Station Officers were deployed to the site.
Despite the fire occurring in a densely staffed production zone, no injuries or casualties were reported. The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed, and further updates from the authorities are awaited.
Anupamaa, starring Rupali Ganguly, remains one of India’s highest-rated television shows. The incident has raised concerns over the safety protocols implemented on high-traffic television sets.
Officials are expected to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident. Meanwhile, production has been temporarily halted pending damage assessment.
