Brad Pitt’s latest survival thriller, Heart of the Beast, has officially crossed a major box office milestone, grossing $102 million worldwide within just two weeks of its theatrical run.
Directed by David Ayer, the film opened with a solid $20 million debut in North America despite sharing a release window with high-profile competition. It has since maintained a strong hold, remaining within the top three rankings in North America. The film’s global earnings are divided between $41.7 million domestically and $60.3 million internationally.
While the movie still needs an estimated $205 million globally to completely break even, strong word-of-mouth and positive audience reception suggest it is on track to hit the target by its fourth weekend.
The film follows Special Forces veteran James Belmont (Brad Pitt) and his combat dog, Odin, as they battle the unforgiving elements and harsh wilderness after a harrowing plane crash.
