Kelucharan Park half-burnt body identified

In a breakthrough, the family of a missing person has identified the half-burnt body recovered from the bushes near Kelucharan Park under Mancheswar police limits in Bhubaneswar.

The deceased has been identified as a resident of the Damana area who had been missing for the last two months. Following his disappearance, the family had previously lodged a formal missing person report at the Mancheswar Police Station.

The identification was confirmed after family members recognised the trousers found near the decomposed remains. Strongly suspecting foul play, the grieving family alleged that the victim was murdered elsewhere and his body set ablaze in an attempt to destroy evidence.

A scientific squad alongside Mancheswar police officers had inspected the crime scene and sent the remains for forensic analysis. Commissionerate Police are conducting a thorough investigation to confirm the victim’s identity through DNA profiling and to track down those responsible.

  • A customer at Regal Food Park in Infocity, Patia, allegedly found insects in the cauliflower served in a vegetable curry. When the customer raised the issue, the restaurant representative reportedly responded dismissively, asking how they could be expected to spot insects inside a cauliflower and stating that nothing could be done.
Despite the complaint, the customer and his friends were required to pay the entire bill. The incident raises serious concerns about food hygiene and the restaurant’s handling of customer complaints.
