Jajpur: An elderly man was stabbed to death by a youth at Jamdhar village under Sadar Police limits in Jajpur district on Saturday.
Police have identified the deceased as Kalandi Mallick of Swapneswar village and detained the accused youth, identified as Surendra Behera, who is suspected to be mentally unstable.
According to reports, Mallick was en route to the local market when the accused, attacked him with a sharp weapon killing him on the spot.
On intimation, Sadar police reached the scene and detained Behera for questioning.
