Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the culmination of the fasting month of Ramzan, will be celebrated in the country on Monday as the moon was sighted this evening.
Fatehpuri Masjid Imam Mufti Mukarram Ahmad told PTI that the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of the mosque contacted many places and was informed that the moon was sighted in several cities in India. Eid will be celebrated in the country on Monday, March 31, he said.
The Gulf News reported that the crescent moon was sighted in Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf countries celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr on Sunday (March 30, 2025). Often referred to as the ‘Festival of Breaking Fast’ or ‘Meethi’ Eid, the festival marks the conclusion of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting from dawn to dusk and is considered as one of the most auspicious Islamic festival observed by Muslims worldwide.
