Abhey Singh, the IIT Bombay aerospace engineering student who gained global fame as “IIT Baba” during the Mahakumbh Mela, has officially tied the knot with Pratika, an engineer based in Bengaluru.
The wedding took place on February 15, 2026, in the serene landscapes of Himachal Pradesh, strategically timed to coincide with the auspicious festival of Mahashivratri. The news surfaced after the couple returned to Singh’s hometown in Jhajjar, Haryana, where traditional welcoming ceremonies were held.
From Aerospace Engineering to Spiritual Awakening
Abhey Singh first captured public imagination at the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj. Known for his “IIT Baba” moniker, Singh stood out for his ability to bridge the gap between complex scientific theories and spiritual philosophy, often delivering insights in fluent English.
Singh, who spent four years at IIT Bombay studying aerospace engineering, eventually pivoted toward photography and the arts before dedicating himself fully to spiritual exploration.
”Science explains the physical world, but its deeper study inevitably leads one toward spirituality,” Singh previously stated. “A true understanding of life ultimately brings one closer to the final truth.”
A Union of Science and Sanatan Values
The bride, Pratika, revealed that their relationship began as a friendship approximately one year ago. She described Singh as a person of immense honesty and simplicity.
The couple has already outlined an ambitious vision for their future. They intend to establish a Sanatan-focused university that integrates modern academic excellence with traditional spiritual teachings. This initiative aims to provide a holistic education system that addresses both the material and metaphysical aspects of human life.
Community Celebration in Jhajjar
Upon their arrival in Haryana, Singh’s mother performed traditional rituals, including aarti, to welcome the newlyweds. The residence has since become a focal point for locals and followers, many of whom traveled to catch a glimpse of the couple and celebrate the union of two individuals who represent a unique blend of modern education and ancient wisdom.
