Drowning of 3 boys in Mahanadi: Body of Md Siddique Majid fished out

Cuttack: The body of the last youth among the three who had been swept away in Mahanadi river at Jobra in Cuttack on Sunday was recovered today.

The deceased has been identified as Md Sadiq. His body was found floating in the river near the Gurudwara.

Reportedly, a group of seven +2 (Second Year) students had come to Jobra Annicut for taking a bath on Sunday when three youths slipped into the river and went missing.

The rest of the students raised an alarm following which rescue operations started. Local fishermen along with ODRAF and Fire Department personnel rescued one of them.

However, the rescued youth succumbed while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital.

The body of another youth identified as Ayur Khan had been fished out of the river on Monday.
