Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced that NEET will shift to a computer‑based mode from next year, marking a major change in India’s medical entrance examination system.
For the NEET‑UG 2026 re‑exam scheduled on June 21, admit cards will be issued by June 14. Candidates can select their own exam centres, and the ministry will provide an additional fifteen minutes to aspirants during the test.
Meanwhile, the CBI intensified its investigation into the NEET paper leak case. Sources revealed that students allegedly paid between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 5 lakh for access to leaked question papers. Investigators traced the paper’s route to Rajasthan through accused Yash Yadav, who reportedly had links with Vikas Biwal.
The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) urged the Supreme Court to restructure or replace the National Testing Agency (NTA). FAIMA argued that recurring leaks represent a direct assault on the rights of over 22.7 lakh students. The body demanded a robust, autonomous system to conduct NEET‑UG under strict supervision.
