A powerful explosion ripped through a Hyundai i20 near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station at 6.50 pm on Monday, killing 13 people and injuring 20 others.

The car had stopped at a red light when the blast occurred, leaving the busy area in chaos.

Investigators revealed that the Union Cabinet has officially classified the incident as a terrorist act carried out by anti-national elements. Security agencies intensified their probe and placed Al-Falah University hostel under scrutiny, suspecting possible links to the attack.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic as commuters and bystanders fled for safety. Emergency teams rushed the injured to nearby hospitals, with several victims still in critical condition.

Authorities confirmed that forensic experts are examining evidence from the blast site. CCTV footage and mobile data are being analysed to trace the perpetrators. Police sources indicated that the probe now extends to possible networks connected to the hostel.
