Crocodile scare in Kharasrota river fumes villagers

Jajpur: Crocodile scare in Kharasrota river under Jajpur district has become a cause of concern for a number of villages all along its banks.

Sources said a 5-ft-long crocodile was seen Nakhei under Similia panchayat. The villagers alleged that they have informed forest officials about the presence of the creature but they could only drive away for some time. They are yet to find out a permanent solution to the problem, the villagers alleged.

The villagers further alleged that they depend upon the river for their daily chores. The scare of crocodile in Kharasrota has prevented them from going near the river.

They have warned that if any villager is hurt by the crocodile then the forest department will be held responsible for any untoward incident.
