Talcher: A man was killed and three others injured critically while a fire cracker they were making went off at Injidi village under Khamar police limits here in Angul district.
The deceased identified as Tripura Behera faced the explosion while he was busy making a cracker at his house. The intensity of the explosion was so high that roof of his house blew up.
He died on the spot while three of his associates sustained critical burn injuries. They were admitted to Khamar Community Health Centre (CHC) and later shifted to Angul district headquarters hospital after initial treatment as their condition deteriorated.
They all were making the crackers in the same house.
Police launched an investigation. Locals said that the crackers were manufactured without license.
Ahead of Diwali, the crackers makers eyed brisk business and made the items illegally.
