The Bhubaneswar‑Kataka Commissionerate Police has issued a public advisory warning citizens about online investment frauds and urging them to dial 1930 or report at cybercrime.gov.in if they fall victim to scams.
In a post shared on X, police cautioned that fraudsters are luring people with “excessive profit” promises to trap them in fake investment schemes. The advisory urged citizens to verify company registration before investing and avoid unverified apps or websites not registered with regulatory authorities.
Officials also warned against sharing OTPs, PINs, bank details, or personal data with strangers and advised immediate reporting of suspicious proposals. The message emphasised that “the promise of excessive profit can be a sign of fraud.”
The advisory concluded with a clear call to action: “Be Alert. Be Safe. Protect Your Hard‑Earned Money.”
