Cuttack: Police have arrested a person for allegedly smuggling copper wire in Cuttack. Cops also seized wires worth Rs 4 lakh from the vehicle.
The arrestee has been identified as Sankarsan Prusty (40) of Bhatimunda area under tangi police station limits.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted the vehicle while it was en route to Cuttack from Bhatimunda area and confiscated over quintals of copper wire from the vehicle.
Besides, the driver of the vehicle failed to produce valid documents. Following this, the cops arrested him and seized the vehicle.
A case was registered about the same and the accused has been forwarded to court.
