Former IAS officer and BJD leader VK Pandian has informed police that he cannot appear at Capital Police Station on July 25 due to being abroad.
He conveyed through email that he is willing to cooperate with the investigation once he returns, or alternatively, provide his statement via video conference.
Pandian was issued a notice on July 22, directing him to appear before ACP Zone-1 Ramesh Chandra Bisoi at 11 AM on July 25 in connection with the file theft case registered under Capital Police Station Case No. 460 dated June 10, 2026. The case involves missing files from the Chief Minister’s Office, including reports on the 2008 murder of VHP leader Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati and the 2016 SUM Hospital fire tragedy.
Police sources confirmed that the investigation continues, though the next steps following Pandian’s communication remain unclear. The case has drawn significant political attention, with observers closely watching developments.
