CM Naveen Inaugurates 20 Newly Constructed Bus Stands Under “Ama Bus Stand Yojna”

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated 20 newly constructed bus stands in 13 districts of the state under ‘Ama Bus Stand Yojna’.

These districts are Anugol, Balasore, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Kendrapada, Keonjhar, Koraput, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Rayagada, Sambalpur and Subaranpur.

On this occasion, the CM said, that communication is the root of development. It is the main strength of our economy. Our goal is to improve the communication system from villages to cities. Our communication infrastructure and public transport system are being developed under the 5T initiative. Villages are being connected to blocks under the LAccMI Yojana. The metro rail plan has been started in Bhubaneswar, he said.  The farmers will be benefited and the children’s education will be facilitated if the communication system is improved, he added.

The Chief Minister further said that the new bus stands will be gradually developed as business hubs and this will also increase our economic activities. It is necessary to strengthen public transport infrastructure as well as aware people so that they can use this public transport system extensively. More attention should be paid to the safety of people at the new bus stand along with proper maintenance of the common facilities available there.

The program was coordinated by 5T and Naveen Odisha Chairman Shri Karthik Pandian. On this occasion, Mr Pandian said that bus stands play an important role in creating the identity of a city. These bus stands are the property of people. He requested everyone to maintain it properly. Along with this, he provided information about the various developmental projects undertaken by the state government under the 5T initiative in various regions.

On this occasion, the Principal Secretary, of the Department of Commerce and Transport Mrs Usha Padhi delivered the welcome address and the CMD of OSRTC Mr Diptesh Patnaik delivered a vote of thanks.
