In a significant push to ensure seamless Rabi paddy procurement, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi chaired a high-level meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan today with MLAs from Sambalpur and Bargarh districts.
The discussion focused on strengthening the entire procurement ecosystem to safeguard farmers’ interests during the ongoing Rabi season.
The Chief Minister emphasised that the state government’s commitment to procuring paddy from every corner of Odisha remains unwavering. “Our top priority is that no farmer should face any difficulty. Millers must lift the paddy on time, and we are monitoring the entire process very closely,” Majhi stated during the meeting.
Detailed deliberations were held on mandi infrastructure, token distribution systems, and timely paddy lifting by millers. The CM directed district collectors to provide all necessary facilities to farmers and resolve grievances on priority. He assured that every issue raised by farmers would be addressed promptly to make the procurement drive smooth and successful.
Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary to CM Shri Shashwat Mishra, and Principal Secretary of the department Shri Sanjay Singh were present in the meeting.
Participating MLAs included Sambalpur MLA Jaynarayan Mishra, Bargarh MLA Ashwini Kumar Sadangi, Atabira MLA Nihar Ranjan Mahananda, and Bijepur MLA Sanat Kumar Gartia. They actively shared ground-level feedback and suggestions to improve the procurement process in their constituencies.
The meeting reflects the government’s proactive approach to support farmers and ensure food security in the state.
