A teacher at a coaching centre allegedly assaulted a Class 8 student so severely that he needed medical treatment in Khallikote town.

The student was watching a Ramayana play at a local puja mandap when the teacher forcibly took him to the coaching centre. There, he assaulted the boy, causing visible bleeding.

Locals admitted the injured student to Khallikote Group Health Centre for primary treatment. The incident triggered strong reactions from parents and residents.

The student’s guardian, Simanchal Behera, condemned the act. He stated that teachers should offer moral guidance, not physical punishment.

The teacher later apologized to the student’s family. The matter was resolved without police intervention, but concerns remain.

Khallikote town hosts over 50 coaching centres. Allegations suggest some centers exploit students and engage in unethical practices.

Parents demand weekly inspections and mandatory registration of all coaching centres. They fear future incidents if authorities ignore the issue.

Many centres reportedly employ both government and private teachers. Students, especially girls, travel from nearby blocks in large numbers.

Residents urge police to monitor coaching centres closely. They believe unchecked operations pose risks to children’s safety.

The incident highlights the need for regulation and accountability. Parents call for reforms to protect students from abuse and exploitation.
