Kantamal police seized a car carrying 50 kilograms of ganja near Udaypur Chhak after the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene.
Acting on a tip-off, the police team patrolled the area and intercepted the suspicious car. On spotting the police, the driver stopped the vehicle and escaped. Officers checked the car and discovered ganja concealed inside.
Police seized the vehicle and weighed the contraband in the presence of witnesses and an executive magistrate. The total quantity measured 50 kilograms and 200 grams. Officials registered a case at the Kantamal police station and initiated an investigation.
Station Officer Basudev Bhoi confirmed the seizure and stated that efforts are underway to trace the absconding driver. Authorities suspect the ganja was being transported for illegal trade across district borders.
