The long wait for devotees and tourists is finally over. The sacred Gundicha Temple in Puri—widely revered as the ‘Leela Khetra’ (divine playground) of Mahaprabhu Jagannath—is set to reopen its doors to the public starting September 30.
The temple administration has confirmed that all necessary preparations have reached their final stages, paving the way for visitors arriving in Srikhetra to experience a smooth and spiritually fulfilling visit.
According to official sources, devotees will be permitted to enter the temple premises for darshan between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM every day. In a welcoming gesture, the temple management has announced that entry will be entirely free for all visitors during the first three days of the reopening. Following this initial period, a nominal entry fee of ₹10 will be implemented. Children and senior citizens, however, will be completely exempt from paying this fee.
To prioritize devotee convenience, the administration is establishing free shoe and mobile phone stands near the temple entrance.
