The Odisha government has taken a firm stance against industries that have acquired more land than needed but failed to utilise it for industrial development.
Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari announced that many companies have held onto large plots for years without initiating industrial activities, leading to concerns about land misuse.
District Collectors have been tasked with identifying such cases and submitting detailed reports on land utilisation. The government intends to reclaim unused land as per legal provisions, ensuring that industrial expansion aligns with actual needs rather than speculative land holdings.
