At least 15 passengers were injured after a bus lost balance and fell into a roadside ditch near Aunuli village under Borigumma police limits in Koraput district on Thursday.
The bus, reportedly carrying 50–60 passengers, was travelling from Chandahandi to Gunupur when the driver lost control on a curve, causing the vehicle to skid off the road. Local residents and police rushed to the spot to assist in rescue operations.
The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment, while authorities are assessing the cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest the mishap occurred due to loss of balance on a narrow stretch of the road.
Police have launched an investigation and are verifying whether mechanical failure or overspeeding contributed to the incident.
