The Centre has extended a fresh invitation to NEET‑UG 2026 protesters, offering to hold discussions at the residence or office of Union Health Minister JP Nadda.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh said the government had already sent four formal proposals since Tuesday afternoon and reiterated its willingness to engage “at any time, at any venue.”
Singh emphasised that both he and Nadda would personally attend the talks, assuring students of a step‑by‑step solution through dialogue. “It is my humble appeal to the students on agitation that the government is ready for talks whenever you want, at whichever hour of the day and for as much length of time that you wish to,” Singh told ANI.
The outreach comes amid a month‑long agitation led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), demanding accountability over alleged irregularities in the NEET‑UG exam. The protests intensified after the ‘Chalo Sansad’ march, prompting police action and closure of several Delhi Metro stations.
Congress has backed the students, highlighting 152 exam scams affecting 7.5 crore students over the past decade. Party leader Rahul Gandhi has demanded the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, an apology to students, and action against those involved in the crackdown.
Despite the standoff, the Centre maintains that dialogue is the best path forward and has urged protesters to accept the invitation to resolve the impasse.
