A bomb exploded while being assembled in Gandataila under Parajang police limits of Dhenkanal district, leaving three people seriously injured.
The incident occurred late Thursday when locals reportedly tried to prepare crude explosives for hunting.
Police sources said one victim lost his hand in the blast, while two others sustained severe burn injuries. All three were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
According to initial reports, the group was attempting to make bombs for animal hunting when the device suddenly detonated.
