Bolangir: Kantabanji Police on Saturday exhumed the dead body of a youth, who was found dead on railway tracks near Kukudahad in Bolangir on July 13, after a family member brought murder allegation.
It is alleged that without ascertaining the identity of the deceased and conducting post-mortem, the GRP buried the dead body.
However, today the police exhumed the body in the presence of a Magistrate after the family members of the deceased youth, identified as Lalit Jain, alleged murder by family members of a girl over a love affair.
On July 13, GRP recovered the dead body of the youth lying on the railway tracks near Kukudahada and without conducting a post-mortem and ascertaining the identity of the deceased; the GRP personnel buried the body.
But the matter took a different turn after the father of the deceased youth lodged a complaint with Kantabanji police station alleging that their son has been missing or had been murdered because of a love affair
Today, Kantabanji Police, in the presence of Kantabanji Magistrate Amrutlal Behera, exhumed the body buried by the GRP Police.
Kantbanji police have started further investigation in this regard.
