Bolangir: Bolangir police has seized eight country-made guns and five cartridges during a raid at Karlaphita village in Haldi panchayat on Tuesday.
Muribahal police of the district has also detained four persons, Dharani Chandan (35), Purandar Dhurua (60), Debarchan Dhurua (30), and Sadhu Dhurua (50) in this connection.
A police team of Muribahal police station led by IIC Jyotirani Das conducted a raid at Karlaphita village early in the morning and seized 8 country-made guns and five cartridges from the accused’s possessions.
A preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the detainees were using the guns and cartridges for hunting wild animals. Police have registered a case in this connection while further investigation is underway.
