Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Monday apprehended the incumbent and retired Tax Collectors/Ward Officers, of BMC (Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation) ward office no 23 at Khandagiri Bari under Khandagiri police limits of Bhubaneswar for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000.
Tax Collector Hemanta Kumar Sahoo and retired Tax Collector Jogendra Pradhan had demanded the said amount from a complainant in order to to reduce the holding tax of the complaint’s house. The entire bribe amount has been recovered from Sahoo and Pradhan.
Bhubaneswar Vigilance has registered a case in this regard and an investigation against both the accused is underway.
