Bhubaneswar: The Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Sanjay Kumar Singh today briefed on Covid containment measures in the BMC area and appealed the denizens to maintain COVID appropriate behaviour.
Singh said that the Oxygen supply has been streamlined and special vehicles are deployed to carry Oxygen Cylinders from the filling points to Covid Hospitals. Testing has been ramped up while the average number of positive cases is slowing down gradually.
The BMC Commissioner said that a total number of 7,21,593 doses of vaccines have been administered to the persons with 18-44 and 45+ age groups in the BMC till 21st May.
He further said that BMC has made special arrangements for ‘to and fro’ pick up, shifting, and testing facilities, especially for senior citizens, pregnant women, and PwDs.
The BMC Commissioner also requested Resident Welfare Associations to contact the concerned Deputy Commissioners of their zone for Mass Testing in their Housing Societies through toll-free number-1929.
He further appealed to denizens to strictly adhere to Lockdown and Weekend Shutdowns along with COVID appropriate behaviour.
