Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Additional Commissioner Ratnakar Sahoo was hospitalised after he felt unwell during office hours.

According to sources, he experienced a sudden bout of illness while at work and was promptly transported to BMC Hospital in an ambulance from the office premises.

The unexpected health situation caused momentary panic among staff at the civic body’s headquarters. Officials on site immediately arranged for medical assistance, ensuring Sahoo received timely attention.

While the exact cause of his condition is yet to be disclosed, it is worth noting that the senior officer was recently involved in a heated episode where he was allegedly assaulted by some individuals inside the BMC premises. That incident had sparked widespread condemnation, and four persons were arrested in connection.

The Odisha Administrative Service Association had even announced a mass leave in protest, demanding strict action and protection for public servants.
