A speeding truck collided with a car near Satya Vihar Square in Bhubaneswar and dragged it for nearly 500 meters toward Pahal, leaving onlookers horrified.
The uncle and niece inside the car survived miraculously with minor injuries.
Eyewitnesses said the truck driver ignored shouts from bystanders and continued dragging the car until it got stuck on a bridge. The driver fled immediately after the collision. Mancheswar Police launched a swift chase and intercepted the truck, detaining the driver for interrogation.
Police began investigating whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol or any other substance. Officers are verifying the cause of the crash and examining the vehicle’s condition.
The car sustained severe damage after being pushed for such a long distance. Locals gathered at the site, expressing outrage over reckless driving and demanding stricter enforcement of traffic laws.
Authorities confirmed that the two occupants escaped with minor injuries and received medical attention.
