The Fourth National Lok Adalat of the year will take place on December 13 across all judicial court complexes in Khurda district.
District Legal Services Authority Secretary Salomi Sahu confirmed that proceedings will be held in Bhubaneswar, Khurda, Banpur, Jatani, Tangi, Chilika, and Begunia.
Moreover, the Lok Adalat will handle a wide range of pending cases. These include criminal compoundable matters, cheque bounce disputes, bank loans, revenue issues, motor accident claims, labour and employment disputes, electricity, water and telephone dues, loan defaults, matrimonial disputes (excluding divorce), land acquisition, service-related cases such as salary and retirement benefits, and other civil matters. In addition, all cases will be resolved through mutual settlement.
Furthermore, parties seeking resolution in the Lok Adalat will not incur any additional financial costs. Its awards remain final and legally binding. As a result, if a pending case is settled through the Lok Adalat, the court fee already paid will be refunded.
Consequently, authorities highlighted that the Lok Adalat offers an effective platform for resolving long-pending disputes. It saves both time and money while ensuring accessible justice. Therefore, citizens are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity and register their cases with the Lok Adalat or contact the nearest Legal Services Authority office for assistance.
