A homoeopathic doctor died in Kendrapara after his elder brother and relatives attacked him during a heated argument over land ownership in Baradang village under Mahakalapada police limits.
Golak Chandra Nauri, a practising homoeopath, confronted his brother Abhay Nauri late Thursday night about the long‑standing property dispute. The quarrel turned violent when Abhay and other family members assaulted him repeatedly. Witnesses said the attack continued even after Golak lost consciousness.
Relatives rushed the critically injured doctor to the Mahakalapada Community Health Centre. Medical staff referred him to Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Police detained four people, including the prime accused , Abhay, for their involvement in the murder. Officers recorded statements from neighbours and family members to reconstruct the sequence of events.
