Bhadrak: A 108 Ambulance vehicle, ferrying a road accident victim, caught fire after the oxygen cylinder exploded near Betada Bazar on Jamujhadi-Basudevpur road in Bhadrak district.
On Saturday afternoon, a truck collided with a bike near Betada Bazar. The locals called the 108 emergency services and the seriously injured victim was rushed to the hospital in the ambulance.
However, while the 108 staff were providing oxygen support to the victims, the cylinder exploded and the ambulance burst into flames.
Fortunately, all managed to alight before the ambulance caught fire and the accident victim was taken to in another private vehicle.
Meanwhile, Basudebpur fire brigade reached the scene and doused the flames, but by that time, the emergency vehicle was completely burnt.
