Riyan Parag Fined for ‘Bringing Game into Disrepute’
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially taken action against Riyan Parag for using a vape in the dressing room during Rajasthan Royals’ Match No. 40 against Punjab Kings. The incident, which was caught on live broadcast, drew immediate criticism from fans and officials alike.

- The Fine: Parag has been fined 25% of his match fee.
- Demerit Points: The skipper has been handed one demerit point for a Level 1 offense.
- The Violation: Breach of Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct, specifically regarding conduct that “brings the game into disrepute.”
Parag admitted to the offense and accepted the sanction imposed by Match Referee Amit Sharma. Under India’s Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act (PECA) 2019, the use of vapes in public and enclosed areas like dressing rooms is strictly prohibited.
