A major scam involving the sale of fake B.Ed certificates has surfaced in Jharsuguda, sparking outrage among students and parents.

Reports revealed that certificates from Andhra institutions were sold for lakhs of rupees, luring hundreds of aspirants into the trap.

Complaints have already reached Jharsuguda Cyber Police Station, with students alleging that they were cheated after paying large sums for certificates that turned out to be fraudulent. Another complaint was filed by a student from Brajarajnagar police limits, adding weight to the growing scandal.

Preliminary investigation confirmed that at least seven students fell victim to the fraud. However, allegations suggest that more than 300 aspirants across western Odisha may have been duped. Complaints have emerged from multiple areas, including Laikera, Belpahar, Brajarajnagar, Orient, and Lakhanpur.

Victims stated that agents promised valid B.Ed certificates that would secure teaching jobs. Instead, they received forged documents, leaving their careers in jeopardy. Many aspirants invested their savings, hoping to qualify for government and private teaching positions.

Police have begun probing the racket, focusing on the network of agents operating across districts. Officials assured that strict action will follow once evidence is gathered.
