A mathematics teacher at a government high school in Limpada under Titlagarh block has been arrested for allegedly harassing a 10th-grade student.
According to reports, the accused teacher, identified as Tekar Singh Majhi from Badapatrapali village, had been repeatedly sending inappropriate messages and text proposals to the minor student’s mobile phone.
He also allegedly pressured her to meet him alone in the school library and assaulted her when she refused.
When the victim’s uncle confronted the teacher regarding his behaviour, the harassment reportedly continued.
The family then approached the Sindhekela police station with chat logs and evidence, leading to the registration of Case No. 196/26. Police arrested the accused teacher and forwarded him to court.
