Armed Miscreants Loot Rs 1.65 Crore From ATM Cash Van In Odisha

Athagarh: As many as seven masked miscreants waylaid an ATM cash van at looted about Rs 1.50 crores by putting the security personnel at gunpoint in Athagarh.

According to reports, the miscreants looted the cash van when the vehicle was en route to Tigiria and was moving on the Nua Sadaka road of Godijharia forest area

The miscreants stopped the ATM van by hurling stones and when the driver stopped the vehicle, they ambushed the security personnel by putting them at gunpoint and made away with the cash.

After receiving the complaint, Tigiria police along with Athagar, Badamba, Narsinghpur, Kanpur, and Banki police have started an investigation into the incident.

The police are also interrogating the four employees, including the security guard of the ATM van.

While this is the second incident in Athagarh area, today about Rs 1.65 crores of cash was robbed from the ATM Van, which has raised questions about the security measures for the cash movement.

When asked, Tigiria police station IIC Gyanaranjan Samal remained tight-lipped on the incident, while Athagarh sub-divisional police officer Rabindra Kumar Mallik said that the search for the robbers is underway.
